RANCHI


·         Capital of Jharkhand.

·         Located in the chhotanagpur Plateau.

·         Heavy Machine tool plants, foundry forge plant, Heavy Machine Building Plant are important industries.

·         An important centre of raw lac collection

JAMSHEDPUR

·         Well connected ;with Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai by road and rail.

·         Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO), oldest steel plant in the country, was set up in 1907.

KODARMA

·         Called as the ‘Mica capital of India’.

·         Chief collecting, processing and trading centre of mica.

TUNDOO

·         Site of lead smelter.

SINDRI

·         First public sector nitrogenous fertilizer plant was established here.

GOMIA

·         Indian explosively Limited company is set up.

BOKARO

·         Steel plant was set up in 1964, with Soviet collaboration near the confluence of Damodar an Bokaro River.

·         Situated in the valley of the Subarnarekha River in the southern park of singhbhum district.

·         Copper smelting plant is located.

CHAIBASA

·         Site of cement factory, which uses blast furnace slag instead of limestone.

DHANBAD


·         Bharat coking limited is set up here.
