ASIA YEMEN

Area: 5, 27,970 sq. km

Population: 17.5 million

Capital: Aden

It occupies the southwestern part of Arabian Peninsula and is surrounded by Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.

ADEN

·         The capital city is situated at the entrance of Red Sea.

·         A refueling station and air base on the route of Far East.

·         An entrepot port and a trading centre of hide – skins, coffee, etc.

OMAN

Area: 2, 12, 460 sq. km

Population: 2.5 million

Capital: Muscat

Situation: Oman, the Second largest country in the Arabian Peninsula and is a land of broken desert, occupies the southerastern part of the Arabian Peninsula.

MUSCAT



·         The capital and Matrah, a suburb of the city is Oman’s chief port.
