JORDAN –LAND OF SEVEN HILL

Jordan has the shortest coastline in the world, only 20 kms.

 AMMAN

·         Country’s capital and is the main industrial centre

·         It is also the hub of Jordan’s transport system.

AQUABA

·         Only port of the country on the Gulf of Aquaba.

IRAN (PERSIA)

Area: 1, 648, 000 – sq,km (second largest country of west Asia)

Latitude: 25˚ - 39˚ 45’N

Population: 66. 8 million (second most populous country of West Asia)

Longitude: 44˚ - 63˚ 30’E

Capital: Tehran.

Situation: lies between the Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf and consists of a great desert plateau surrounded by Zagros Mountain in the south and west and Elburz in the north.

TEHRAN

·         Situated on the southern slopes of the Elburz Mountain.

·         Country’s capital and is the most populated city of West Asia.

·         Almost half of Iran’s manufactured goods ranging from cigarettes and shoes to textiles are produced.

ESFAHAN

·         Chief Cotton and woolen textile centre.

ABADAN

·         coastal location and had biggest oil refinery till it was destroyed in Iran war

AHVAZ

·         Petroleum field is located here.

KERMANSHAH

·         Petroleum field is located here.

MASJID – I – SOLAIMAN


·         Petroleum field is located here.
