SAUDI ARABIA

Population: 20.9 million   (third largest populated country of West Asia).

Capital: Riyadh (royal), and Jeddah (administrative).

Situation: Saudi Arabia, situated between the Red Sea and Persian Gulf occupies nearly four – fifths of Arabian Peninsula.

·         Saudi Arabia’s capital is the important industrial centre.

MECCA

·         Birthplace of the prophet Muhammad and the principal holy city of the Islamic world.

JEDDAH

·         Saudi Arabia’s leading industrial city and chief Reed Sea port.

·         The port of Jeddah on the Red Sea is located some 64km from Mecca is the main point of entry for foreign pilgrims.


RAS TANURAH

·         Situated on the northeastern coast of the Persian gulf, has huge oil field and refineries.
