Situation:

Myanmar has common boundary with India, Bangladesh, China, Laos, Thailand and the Bay of Bengal on its west 

·         Known as the ‘Land of mountains and rivers’.

·         Poorest country among South East Asian Nations.

·         Famous for its beautiful Buddhist temples called ‘Pagodas’.

YANGOON

·         Myanmar’s capital is the country’s learning port and main industrial city.

·         Rice and saw milling, food – processing, chemicals, rubber, and oil refining and steel are important industries.

MANDALAY


·         Located on the left bank of Irrawaddy River.

·         An important Buddhist centre noted for its monasteries and pagodas.

LUANG PRABHANG

·         City of Hundred Pagodas.

CHAUK


·         Lies along the Irrawaddy River, has oil fields.
