Situation: Malaysia consists of peninsular of west Malaysia, lying on mainland of south – East Asia between Thailand and Singapore, and East Malaysia comprising of Sabah and Sarawak on the north – west coast of Borne o (some lies between East and West Malaysia).

KUALALUMPUR

·         Malaysia’s capital, is near the west coast of the peninsula on the confluence of Gombak and delang rivers.

·         Convergence city of all the main roads and railways an also the largest port in Malaysia.

IPOH

·         Situated in the Kinta valley.

·         Tin mining is important around Kinta valley.

·         Has well – developed karts topography.

ALOR STAR


·         A big agricultural centre is located in the Kedah plain.

BATU ARANG

·         Located on the peninsular Malaysia has oil fields.

PENANG ISLAND

·         Lies to the west of peninsular Malaysia; it is made of granite and has many bays and headland.

·         Known as ‘Singapore of the future”

·         A centre of tin smelting.

SARAWAK, JAHORE


·         Most of the world’s pepper comes from these two regions.
