Caribbean region –Mexico, EI Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica
Africa – Ivory coast, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Congo and Kenya

The cocoa tree is true native of tropical climate.

Average annual temperature about 25 - 27˚ C
Well distributed rainfall over 50 – 200 cm.
Deep, rich well- drained soil.
No strong winds which could blow down the heavy pos.

Western Africa – Over half the world’s production comes from this
region.
Tropical America – Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, Dominican
Republics.
Asian countries – Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.
