NORWAY:

       Situation: situated in the western part of Scandinavian Peninsula of North West Europe.

·         Neither coal, nor oil is available but it has fully utilized its potential water resources.

·         Fishing its he major occupation with immense quantities of cod, herring, mackerel, salmon, etc.

OSLO

·         Capital of Norway is situated at the head of OSLO fjord.

·         It is largest and busiest harbor and handles much of the trade.

BERGEN

·         An important sighing port situated on the Atlantic sea coast.

NARVIK


·         Iron ore of Sweden is shipped via this port in winter, which remains ice free.

TRONDHEIM

·         Main pulp and paper exporting centre as well as having aper industry of the country.

ODDA, ARENDAL

·         Important aluminum smelting plant of Norway.

STAVANGER

·         Port in the southern Norway, serving the north sea oil and gas fields.

·         Specialize in the canning of brisling.

·         The florid sea – coast, a distance of over 1,610 km from Stavanger to Hammerfest is noted for cod fishing.

HAUGESUND

·         Greatest Norwegian herring port.

LOFOTEN ISLANDS

·         Greatest cod fishing area, maximum fishing during autumn.
