VICTORIA

·         Situated at the southern end of Vancouver Island, is the capital of British Columbia.
·         Biggest naval and fishing port on the pacific coast.
 INTIMATE,
·         ‘Kitimat scheme’ located on Nechako River (a tributary of Fraser River) is established to supply hydel power for aluminum smelting plant.
    VANCOUVER
·            Situated near the mouth of Fraser River, is the largest city of British Columbia.
·         Western terminus of the Canadian pacific railway.
·         Also the chief outlet lf Canada on the pacific coast, exporting wheat, canned fish, lumber, wood Paul, etc.
·         An important centre for lumbering.
·         Heart of the western Canada in fishing industry.
Alberta
Province east of British Columbia and west of Saskatchewan.
 Edmonton
·         The capital and the largest town of Alberta.
·         Largest prairie town of Canada.
·         Largest petroleum pipeline from Edmonton to Sarnia (Ontario) is built here.
·         Local extraction of oil, natural gas, potash and coal
·         Known for winter sports.
·         Representative station of cool temperate continental climate (taiga).
·         Linked by railway to Vancouver on the pacific coast, and Ottawa and Quebec in the east.
    CALGARY
·         Lies at the foot of rockers below the kicking horse pass at the junction of French Canada.
·         First petroleum oil well of Canada was dug in the turner valley of Calgary.









Saskatchewan
Province in south central Canada whose borders are all in straight line.
 REGINA
·         Capital of Saskatchewan is an important gain centre.
·         An important region of non-fuel minerals.
