SOUTH AMERICA ARGENTINA

 Area: 27, 66,890 sq. km
 Latitude: 22˚ - 55˚ S
 Population: 36, 1 million
 Longitude: 53˚40’ - 73˚ 30’ W
 Capital: Buenos Aires.
·         Situation: second largest South American country after Brazil, occupies most of the continent below the tropic of Capricorn and east of the Andes.

·         Sheep rearing is most important in the drier part of Argentina including the whole of Patagonia and Tierra Del forego, leading wheat predicting region of the world.

BUENOS AIRES
·         Capital of Argentina is the largest city.
·         Grew into a major city due to commercial grazing.
ROSARIO
·         An important town of wheat crescent.
·         Forms a conurbation with Buenos Aires.
·         Rosario and Buenos Aires have well developed slaughter houses or FRIGORIFICOS.

BAHIA BLANCA
·         From Rosario to Bahia Blanca, form wheat crescents of Pampas.

MENDOZA

·         Situated at the foot of the uspallta pass, the only break across the Andes.
GUYANA
 Area: 2, 14,970 sq. km
 Latitude: 1˚ 30’ - 8˚ 30’ N
 Population: 855, 000
 Longitude: 56˚- 61˚ 30’ W
 Capital: Georgetown
·         Situation: situated on the north – east coast of South America and is surrounded by Venezuela in the west, Surinam in the east and Atlantic Ocean in the north.
SURINAM
 Area: 1, 63,270 sq. km
 Latitude: 1˚ 50’ - 6˚ N
 Population: 415,000
 Longitude: 54˚ -58˚ 10’ W
 Capital: Paramaribo
