Situation: centrally situated state of the country is surrounded by Uttar Pradesh in the north, Chhattisgarh in the east and southeast, Maharashtra in the south, Gujarat in the west and Rajasthan in the North West.

BHOPAL

·         Capital ;city of Madhya Pradesh

·         Situated on the fertile lava tract.

·         Well known for its embroidery on silk and satin.

·         Dry cell batteries and electrodes are also manufactured.


·         A unit of Bharat Heavy electrical Limited (Bhel) is located.

GOVINDPURA

·         A suburb of Bhopal.

·         Heavy electrical machinery plant in located.

UJJAIN

·         Situated on the bank of a ehad water tributary of the K shipra river.

·         Local cotton production has given rise to cotton tetilkes and the manufacture of surgical cloth and surgical cotton.

·         Art silk and woolen fabrics are also manufactured.

DEWAS

·         Bank Note press of Indian Government and leather goods factories are located.

INDORE

·         Fertilizer plant based on natural gas from Hazira is located here.
