Situation: Meghalaya is bordered in the
north and east by Assam and n the south and west by Bangladesh. It literally
means the ‘abode of cloud’ and has also been called the ‘Scotland of the East’
because of its elevation (1496 m above the sea level).

Lotha, Sangtam,Sema and Chakhesang, etc.
Situation: Nagaland is situated in the
extreme northeast of the country. It is bordered by Assam in the west.
Arunachal Pradesh in the north, Myanmar in the east and Manipur in the south.
Mt. Saramati
is the highest peak in Nagaland with a height of 3, 840 m and its range forms a
natural barrier between Nagaland and Myanmar.
